How Borders Therapy Hub works

Borders Therapy Hub connects people with professionally registered, independent therapists and community services in the Scottish Borders.

We make it easier to see what types of therapy are available - from free youth support to reduced-cost and private options - and to understand how each can be accessed.

Borders Therapy Hub does not provide counselling itself; all therapy is delivered by independent practitioners and services registered, insured and responsible for their own professional practice.

The Hub’s role is to provide the structure, space, and transparency that help people, families and professionals find the right route to support.

Our Values

Borders Therapy Hub is built on the belief that therapy should be safe, ethical, and accessible - designed to bring clarity, sustainability and coherence.

Everything we do is guided by a few simple principles.

Clarity

We make it easier to understand therapy - what’s available, what it costs, and how to access it.

Transparency

We’re open about how services are listed, how rooms are offered, and how reduced-cost sessions are made possible.

Safety

Every therapist listed through the Hub meets clear standards of professional registration, supervision, and insurance.

Fair Access

We help balance opportunity - supporting free, subsidised, and private routes to therapy so that choice exists for everyone.

Community Purpose

All Hub income is reinvested into creating affordable space, expanding provision, and supporting access to counselling and therapy.
